We've been able to accomplish a tremendous amount in our first 4 years on a shoestring budget. We provide direct legal service to support queer parents in making sure they have parenting rights to their kids, and are revolutionary in that we also support queer families beyond couples and including non-nuclear families, such as platonic co-parents and multi-parent families. We're also one of only two legal nonprofits in NY state providing free assistance with the several year immigration process to get a green card for LGBTQ+ asylees escaping persecution. We have one of the most extensive transgender/GNC legal support service programs in NYC, offering help above the income cut off for most programs and a comprehensive package of support for trans clients. We've also passed laws for the first multi-partner domestic partnerships.
