To qualify for services with Chosen Family Law Center, we screen applicants for the following qualifications:
- All clients must be below 250% of the federal poverty line (see chart below - the limits are on your GROSS INCOME for your HOUSEHOLD/FAMILY. Financial documentation of income and assets will be requested and must be provided to qualify for services. PLEASE NOTE: A household is those who share finances, not necessarily those who live under the same roof. If you do not share finances (such as buying food together, paying bills together, sharing a car or other living expenses as a family would) with the other people you live with, such as roommates, then only submit information for yourself. If you do share finances, whether or not you live together, we need income documentation for everyone in the household.)
- A self-identified member of the LGBTQIA community, and requiring assistance with LGBTQIA or non-nuclear family legal issues such as transgender name-changes or judgment of parentage for female same-sex couples.
- You must be a resident of one of the following NY Counties: All 5 boroughs of NYC, Westchester County, Putnam County, Ulster County, and Dutchess County.
- You must be requesting a service we provide. Our list of services is here. We do not handle divorce, custody, housing, employment, medical, or violence/harassment cases or any matters that have gone to trial.
