At Chosen Family Law Center, we believe that excellent legal representation begins with deep cultural competency, ethical rigor, and a clear understanding of how LGBQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual), TGNCNB (Trans, Gender Non-Conforming, and Non-Binary), and non-nuclear communities family are actually living today.
We are proud to launch a series of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) classes designed to equip attorneys with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to effectively serve TGNCNB & LGBQIA+ individuals, polyamorous families, and other non-nuclear family structures.
Our initial CLE programs will occur once a month in September, October, and November 2026. Classes are taught by our Executive Director Diana Adams, Esq. and Senior Legal Director Andy Izenson, Esq., internationally recognized attorneys and leaders on LGBTQIA+ family law, transgender rights, and evolving family structures.
Chosen Family Law Center is a grassroots trans-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing equitable legal recognition for LGBTQIA+ individuals, polyamorous families, and other chosen and non-nuclear family structures. Our work supports family diversity within and beyond the LGBTQIA+ community, including single parents, polyamorous individuals, platonic partners, disabled people and their caretakers, and extended families.
For detailed information about our recent achievements and future plans, you can read CFLC's annual report here.
Our authority in this field is built on substantive legal expertise, policy leadership, and direct service to the communities that our attorneys come from and are embedded within. This work includes:
Our CLE instructors bring decades of direct experience in LGBTQIA+ family law, mediation, trauma-informed practice, and policy reform.
The strategies we teach are grounded in real client interaction, active casework, and cutting-edge legal developments, offering substantive legal education shaped by direct representation and lived experience.
Our work is grounded in both the current legal realities that our clients are facing and the broader, long-term impact of legislation on marginalized communities. We’re thrilled to launch this CLE class series to expand the network of culturally competent and trauma-informed attorneys available to provide services to LGBTQIA+ and non-nuclear family communities.
Whether you are looking to fulfill your CLE requirements, expand your practice into emerging areas of LGBTQIA+ and family law, or strengthen your ability to represent marginalized communities with excellence, our programs are designed to support you.
We invite you to learn with us and to be part of building a legal system that recognizes and protects all families.
