Ariel is a visual artist, writer, activist, and published researcher from New York City. They previously served as a researcher with Hacking//Hustling and the Center for Justice Innovation, a community organizer for the Red Umbrella Project, and a board member for Blue Stockings Cares. Ariel has published several peer-reviewed papers on her studies about sex workers, criminalized populations, and criminal justice reform. She was a visiting research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics in Saarbrucken, Germany, and has presented her work at Harvard Law School and The American Society of Criminology. Her artwork has been presented at MoMaPS1 as part of the “DIY Resistance” panel, and at the Metropolitan Museum of Art as part of the copyist program.
Ariel has a BFA from the School of Visual Arts where she honed her skills as a classically trained oil painter and a performance artist exploring gender and sexuality.
They maintain Chosen Family Law Center's social media, wesbite, newsletter, and communications, as well as leading programming, including our upcoming Continuing Legal Education classes and in-person clinics.
